Mickey Looney Team Spirit Scholarship for graduating seniors
Unable to participate in sports due to a congenital heart condition, Mickey participated in the games from the sidelines. He served as student manager of varsity squad athletics during his seventh and eighth grade years, and passed away on May 18, 1963 just two months prior to his 14th birthday. Mickey represented the heart and soul of our teams and Ralston as a community. He was an honest, enthusiastic, and conscientious part of everything associated with what it means to be a devoted team member. Mickey was a giver of his best to help others be at their best. That virtue of gratitude was a hallmark of Mickey because he constantly looked outward of the self to serve others. His high energy presence was infectious. He left a lasting mark on all who knew him. His parents and loving brother, Ralph, extended Mick's memories for all to feel his goodness knowing so many were touched positively by him. In many ways he represented the goodness of what it meant to grow up in Ralston.
