BILL RUF LEGACY OF CARING GRANT
Bill (William L.) Ruf was a teacher and counselor at both Ralston Middle School and Ralston High School. He spent 30 years teaching, coaching, counseling, and connecting with students. If you knew him, you knew a teacher and counselor who loved kids and would move mountains to help them when they needed help or encourage them when they needed an advocate.
The Bill Ruf Fund is a Legacy of Caring Grant established by former students, friends, and family members who describe Bill’s embodiment of enthusiasm for life as unparalleled. Bill was known as an individual who never gave up and embraced the challenges of life with a mindset of success. |
This caring fund is intended to encourage that very same mindset with students who find themselves facing obstacles beyond their control while providing them with not only hope and opportunity but also the means to tackle those obstacles and reach their goal.
Description of Legacy Grant: The purpose of Bill Ruf‘s Legacy of Caring Grant will be to provide a Ralston Middle School or Ralston High School student with the means to tackle the physical, emotional, or educational needs that are obstacles to the mindset needed to succeed. This can be especially burdensome when the student does not have the financial means to tackle these obstacles. This fund will provide that support; however, it is not intended to be a duplication of other support programs or social services programs.
