RAM TENNIS FOREVER GRANT ENDOWMENT
Tennis is a sport that requires a broad fitness regimen that can be enjoyed throughout one’s life. Strength, speed, agility, flexibility, and endurance are all healthy building blocks on and off the tennis court.
John H. Gamble, a Ralston High School graduate, and his wife, Yvonne created a grant endowment to support the tennis forever program at Ralston Public Schools. The grant’s purpose is to promote participation in tennis programs at all levels. Coaches are provided the tools, such as equipment and supplies they need to create an environment for a positive team experience. For many students, it is a game-changer as it will encourage them to participate with fewer financial constraints. |
During the summer, this grant funds a RAM Tennis Forever Camp for the students and the Ralston Community. This camp is designed for the participants to have fun as well as develop skills and gain an enthusiasm for the sport. Whether they are a first-time player just starting out, or a veteran who would like to improve their overall skills, the RAM Tennis Forever Camp offers an opportunity to gain confidence and consistency during ball machine drills, live-ball lessons, and match play.
Description of Legacy Grant: This endowment will make tennis forever grants available to benefit K-12 students at Ralston Public Schools and the Ralston community. Coaches can apply for grants so they can be awarded to individual students or qualifying programs benefiting groups of students and adults. This program will focus on instilling the values of sportsmanship, teamwork, swing mechanics, footwork, strategies and tactics, continual improvement, and health benefits. Grants support students throughout the school year as funds become available.
