JERRY CHALUPA LEGACY OF MUSIC ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP
In 1956 Jerry Chalupa began a 20-year musical career at Ralston High School (RHS). His choir and band programs were small in the beginning, but it soon became one of the largest and most well-respected programs in the state. His programs earned numerous superior ratings at Nebraska State Music Contests. One of Mr. Chalupa’s proudest moments was being selected by the senior class of 1959 in the RAM for his undying spirit and loyal service to Ralston Public Schools. “He broadened our horizons, raised our goals, and was an ever-enthusiastic worker in the expansion of our young school.” Mr. Chalupa will always be remembered for his sense of humor, compassion, his sunny disposition, and his positive outlook on life. He wanted to help all students by providing them the encouragement and motivation to succeed in life whether it was music, or other career endeavors.
